A few months before his suicide, the actor was contacted by a woman in her terminal phase of cancer. She had a few desires left in her life. One of them was to meet Robin Williams and another one, was to be married to her many years boyfriend Jack Waller.
The cancer patient is Vivian Waller and she is only 21 years old. Even thought these brutally facts in her life, Vivian were married in February to her boyfriend Jack Waller with whom she has a one-year-old daughter Sophie.
Having these facts in mind, what did Robin Williams choose to do, – well off cause he didn’t ignored her – but what did Williams do?
It wasn’t possible for them to meet, so Williams decided to record an inspirational video to the very ill woman – Vivian – from New Zealand.
The actor recorded a video to a 21-year-old woman. “Sending all my love to you, Jack and Sophie,” Williams tells Vivian in the video, referring to her husband and their one-year-old daughter.
Here you can see the video Williams send to Vivian.
Williams committed suicide on Aug. 11.th at age 63 and was in the early stages of Parkinson’s disease, according to his wife.
Watching the video, makes it obvious, Robin Williams was a very sensitive person, where the sadness has taken over much more then would be good for any one being this sensitive.
Struggling with different kind of addiction has had the media attention, since Robin Williams committed suicide. But why has no media paid attention to the very often seen sensitivity, belonging to extraordinary artists. Could it be because such a reality sends back a responsibility, to the often cynical and often disrespectful media attention, from journalist, who often really doesn’t care about the actors or artist, as humans, but as objects for increased customer attention to the media they a representing.
I often find it offending, witnessing the cynical and often disrespectful journalist approach, to artist having a hard time in life.
If RobinWilliams have had someone to write, as Vivian had to Williams, what would be the right inspirational message to Williams, from someone he wrote a message to?
Could the message be – ”you have done a great job, and to be quite honest with you, if you feel tired, used and perhaps even abused, then it’s time for a break together with people who love you, so they don’t expect anything else from you, than you just being you and being present in the moment”.
Maybe it was the pressure of expectation and desire to accomplish even more in realtion with The Press there never can be- or will be able to get enough, before they realize – that artists are also people who need caring and understanding people around them. Maybe it was the ability to be caring and understanding of himself and his own nature, Robin Williams had forgotten and others had forgotten the importance of making him aware of – before is was too late.
One thing for me is sure; I will miss him a lot in the future.
